What role do you play at kisquared?
I work in kisquared, at kisquared, and for kisquared. I manage staff and clients - both people and their expectations. And I dream… where we can go next, what our opportunities are, and how we can get there, given current circumstances. It is endlessly exciting, so I believe my role makes me an extremely lucky business person.
What do you like about working at kisquared?
Having conducted a number of research studies in the HR field, I'm always amazed that there really are workplaces out there that don't provide employees with stimulation and challenge. kisquared has those things in spades - and watching my colleagues come through our doors as new employees, then figure out how limitless their opportunities are, step up to challenges, and stretch themselves to meet our expectations, is the thing I like most about working here.
Your best kisquared moment?
As an early riser, I'll often be at work in the office before my staff arrives, or e-mailing that day's updates to them from home, while I know they're still sleeping. My best moment at kisquared comes every day - when I get the first e-mail in reply, or when I hear the front door open and the first person walks in. Realizing that I've created an organization where such talented professionals are willing to come to work each day, to trust me, to have faith in our company's mission and vision, to keep weighing in, makes me extremely proud; and gives me my best "kisquared moments".
When let out of the office, I like to...
Pack in as much fun as I can get away with, until it's time for me to be a responsible adult again. Exactly what sort of fun matters less than how good a time I'm having. My favourites include going out with friends, listening to blues, and partaking of exquisite food and drink whether created by me or by exotic dining establishments (the more far-flung the better). I might find myself at a major league ball park, art gallery or shoe store; on a Friday evening flight kicking off a weekend spree "just because"; traveling in countries where I don't speak the language; waking up at the lake surrounded entirely by bush, in the quiet of an exquisite morning where the only sounds are the animals inside and outside the cottage; or hiking somewhere I've never been before - in the desert, on a glacier, or in the Grand Canyon. Did I mention shoe shopping?
